His thick, wavy hair, which hung just beyond his shoulders, had always been a characteristic of his. It was a distinguishing characteristic—wild but endearing, lending him a laid-back and creative air.
His hair seemed to have a life of its own, and many people enjoyed the way his curls bounced freely as he moved. Throughout the years, his long hair became an integral part of who he was, readily recognizable to both friends and strangers.
However, the upkeep eventually began to wear it down. He disliked how long it took to wash and style, and the curls occasionally seemed heavy and unwieldy, especially on hot days.
He found himself wishing for a change—a new appearance that was more manageable while yet capturing his individuality.

He made a daring choice one day. He requested a short haircut, which would drastically alter his image, as he entered a barber’s chair. Sensing his confidence and eagerness, the barber smiled and went to work.
His curly hair fell to the ground in clumps with every cut, exposing more of his neck and face. A tidy, short style replaced the long, flowing curls, bringing a fresh perspective to his face.
He hardly recognized the image of himself in the mirror when the haircut was complete. The change was remarkable—clean, angular, and self-assured.
This was a new beginning, not just a haircut.
