Over the years, America’s Got Talent has showcased a number of notable vocalists. Jourdan Blue, who won the second Golden Buzzer for Season 20 of the talent competition, has joined them.
The New Orleans native, 23, finds his job as a street musician to be both thrilling and difficult.
In a video package, he clarified, “I go out and sing from 8 p.m. to 2 or 3 a.m., or until the cops kick me off the street.” I support my son and girlfriend in this way. Despite the difficulties, I make an effort to provide a good example for my son. I want to demonstrate to my son the importance of pursuing your goals. He has taught me that there is much more to life than I realized, even if I wasn’t prepared when I had him.

Jordan was inspired to become a rebel by his father’s profession as an attorney and his mother’s work as a police officer. By the time he was sixteen, he was living alone, visiting friends’ homes, or sleeping in the lavatories at work.
“Until my grandfather, who drove out there that night and picked me up, told me, ‘You stay with me now,’” Jourdan said. Since then, I’ve been with him.
Because of how close they are, Jourdan called his grandfather John before performing at AGT and handed the phone to host Terry Crews so his grandfather could watch. Speaking to judges Simon Cowell, Mel B, Howie Mandel, and Sofia Vergara about his living situation, JJourdan said that his grandfather, who loves music, has been an inspiration to him.

He broke down in tears as he recounted, “I really wanted to get into it, so I started street performing in New Orleans.” You may remember that earlier this year, right on the block where I perform, there was an attack on New Orleans. I was reminded that life has so much more to offer. I picked AGT for that reason. “This, in my opinion, is the most effective way to progress.”
For his audition, Jourdan chose “Breakeven” from The Script.
