He wore his long, flowing white hair over his shoulders in the same style for decades.
It made him look sweet and wise. Some even claimed that it gave him the appearance of a retired artist or a granddad from a storybook. His hair became an integral element of his identity.
Recently, however, he felt that his inner feelings did not align with his reflection. Despite his lengthy hair, he still possessed a spark, humor, and vitality. He decided it was time for a change one day, almost without thinking.
He had his hair down his back as he entered the barbershop. with hardly more than a tidy clip around his ears, and left.
The flowing white hair was gone. They were replaced by a clean, short cut that showed off a confident smile, brighter eyes, and a sharper jawline.
The change was astounding.
