Julie Newmar’s most well-known role is that of Catwoman. In the Batman franchise, she was the first female to hold one of the most important positions. In the 1960s Batman television series, she played Catwoman.
Recently, on Thursday, May 15, of this year, she was seen in Los Angeles. She was seen riding a motorized scooter during her public appearance. She was dressed in a blue button-up shirt, furry slippers, and gray sweatpants. In order to protect her eyes from the sun, she also wore a hat with a wide brim.
The 91-year-old rarely appears in public. She uses Instagram frequently. She sent photos of flowers in bloom on May 13 along with the description, “Our most glorious garden yet.”
She shared a video of herself as Catwoman, who costarred with Adam West from 1966 to 1968, earlier this month. Although she only appeared in 13 episodes, her character on the show won her a lot of fans.

She is rarely seen in public. She was spotted wearing cat ears while signing autographs for her admirers during a fan gathering in 2024. She went to CatCon and the Amazing Las Vegas Comic Con in 2017.
“I’m realizing that through all the shows I’ve done — the television, film, and stage — all the mediums I’ve worked in,” she stated in a previous interview, “it was Catwoman’s costume that allowed me to tell the story through my body.”
She noted that the character’s words were “brilliant, and funny on top of that.” “It was the right time in the right decade, and the producer hired the right people to do all the lighting, this, that, and the other.” Everything went smoothly.
Additionally, she provided the character’s voice in the 2016 and 2017 films Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders and Batman vs. Two-Face, respectively.
The first actress to play the part was Julie Newmar, but later well-known actors like Eartha Kitt, Michelle Pfeiffer, Halle Berry, and others took over. Zoë Kravitz, who played Batman opposite Robert Pattinson, was the most recent actress to play the part.
Newmar’s other credits include an appearance in George Michael’s “Too Funky” music video and another ’60s sitcom, My Living Doll. Additionally, she appeared in the 1995 film To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything as herself.
