Music has a unique ability to bridge boundaries, unite people, and make lifelong memories. Together with the mesmerizing piano skills of Emilio, a rising star in Europe’s classical and pop music worlds, this fact came to life one incredible evening in Germany when 100 vocalists came together for a surprise performance.
After playing pieces by Chopin, Einaudi, and his own original compositions, Emilio’s solo piano recital was halfway over when the lights went down and voices started to come in from all throughout the audience. In a masterfully planned flash choir, more than 100 singers emerged from the balcony, the aisles, and even beneath the stage.
The ensemble, which was meticulously planned and secretly practiced, had foreign vocalists, Berlin local choirs, and even a few unexpected celebrity performers. They gave the audience shivers with their amazing performance of Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah, which was played subtly on Emilio’s piano.
