Jaycob Curlee came and left everyone in tears with his performance

At the age of five, Jaycob Curlee’s life took a drastic turn when he and his sister were put up for adoption, which forced him to navigate a system that caused him to question everything.

As the years went by, hope started to wane. However, God sent him the family he had long desired just as he was ready to give up. After waiting and going through a lot of suffering, Jaycob is finally taking the stage at America’s Got Talent to deliver his passionate performance in addition to singing. Jaycob Curlee, an 18-year-old from Daphne, Alabama, made an impression on America’s Got Talent viewers in 2014 with an honest audition that struck a deep chord because of his poignant personal story.

The title of the book is “A Journey through Adversity.”

Early in life, Jaycob encountered several difficulties. At the age of five, he and his sister were placed in foster care due to their drug-addicted and jailed parents. The boys went through the care system for a number of years, during which time Jaycob’s disenchantment with life grew. But when they were taken in by a caring family, who gave them the security and assistance they had been looking for, hope finally came.​

Music is a source of inspiration.

In his tumultuous youth, Jaycob turned to music for comfort. He used singing and playing the guitar as coping mechanisms and ways to express himself, and these activities brought him peace. His passion for music ultimately led him to the America’s Got Talent stage, where he showcased his skills and narrative to a global audience.​

An unforgettable audition

Jaycob performed a heartfelt cover of John Mayer’s “Waiting on the World to Change” during his audition, playing the guitar by himself. Both the judges and the audience gave him a standing ovation for his heartfelt and genuine performance.
