Little in height but with a voice that would soon shock the world, an 11-year-old girl took the stage at The Voice Kids. Time appeared to stop when Elvis Presley’s soft opening notes of “Can’t Help Falling in Love” played. It was a moment, not just a song.
The judges’ expressions ranged from disbelief to curiosity as they leaned forward. As though the King had come back, the audience held its breath, anticipating each note. Following her performance, nobody in the house was in a daze. The judges were astounded since they failed to identify any issues with her performance. With thunderous, unrestrained cheers, the audience broke the silence and gave the singer a well-known standing ovation.
If the success of talent hunt television shows has taught us anything, it is that there are many talented kids in the globe. I’m confident that this stunning German girl will astound you.
All season long, 11-year-old Georgia Balke of Bremerhaven, Germany, has been a favorite among the supporters. She opened the year with the popular song “House of the Rising Sun” from the 1960s. Oddly, audience votes permitted Georgia to participate again even though the judges had previously disqualified her. Talk about a resurgence.
Georgia did a great job using the popular Elvis Presley song “Can’t Help Falling in Love” as her epilogue. She then joined her “coaches,” Smudo from the Fantastischen Vier and Michi Beck (left), in applauding.
Later that week, rather than that evening, the true award was revealed. Due to a Covid quarantine, Georgia was unable to attend.
