Two of the coveted golden buzzers, which send acts to the live semi-finals, were given out by the judges.
After an incredible performance by Olly, who played electric guitar covers of Queen, Van Halen, and AC/DC, Amanda Holden pressed the first buzzer. He told the judges that he was afraid and that he had learned to play the guitar from his grandfather when he was seven years old.
He told judge Simon Cowell, “I want to be the greatest guitarist in the world in the future.”
The crowd cheered him on when he was done, and his grandfather walked up to give him a hug. “I feel like I’m on top of the world,” Olly said following the performance.
“I was surprised by it.” So I was truly in awe. “Push the gold,” they began to say, and I felt it would be good if they actually did. And it happened. It was a wonderful feeling.
“I think I just realized the greatest dream of my life.”
Amanda Holden said, “He went above and beyond.” He said he wants to be the best in the world, and I think he’s doing a great job. The young rock star has thousands of social media fans thanks to his shows that pay homage to his favorite guitar inspirations.
When Olly was eight years old, he started playing in nearby Chester after getting a guitar for his seventh birthday. The current endorsements are for Scott Dixon Inc. equipment, Scan Pro Audio equipment, and Patrick Eggle guitars. A spot on the Royal Variety Performance program and a life-altering £250,000 cash award will be given to the final winner of this year’s competition, who tried out at the London Palladium.
