Unfortunately, a large number of canines who enter animal shelters are underweight and emaciated. Seeing animals struggle until they are nearly too weak to stand bothers me.
Despite being neglected, some animals still show compassion and trust toward people, while others cower in terror when a rescuer comes near. It is sometimes unthinkable to consider what the latter have endured.
For me, the idea of ever wanting to harm an animal is unthinkable. In addition, I just don’t understand why somebody would like doing this in any way.
Nevertheless, I believe that dogs possess a sixth sense that allows them to distinguish between good and bad people.
The significance of allowing a neglected animal to initiate contact will be clear to those who work with animals. It’s normal to want to play and touch a dog to let them know you don’t mean any harm, but this isn’t always the greatest approach.
Some people simply cannot see how a dog who has experienced abuse may be taken by surprise by an unfamiliar person.
Edie, a mixed-breed stray dog, was only hours away from being put down. It had been a very long time since anyone had taken any interest in her, and she was afraid of people. She was seriously undernourished, and her fur was a mess.
To give Edie another chance, one had to be an animal lover.
The video’s opening segment is challenging to watch. Edie barely knows what to do with herself since she is so terrified. When she barks at the man she believes to be a threat, her entire body trembles.
But in the end, the man in the video manages to catch Edie and prevent her from fleeing. Now he can go to her.
After that, the establishment of a trusting relationship happens quickly. Edie starts to realize that he is there to support her, not to harm her. Her realization that she will no longer be put down is almost visible.
