It was down to two young girls with lofty aspirations in the final round of “America’s Got Talent.”
Darci Lynne Farmer, a 12-year-old singing ventriloquist, and Angelica Hale, a 10-year-old soprano, were the two young girls with lofty goals that advanced to the final round of “America’s Got Talent.”
On Wednesday, both of them wowed the crowd with their incredible performances, but Darci Lynne was named the winner.
She also won a $1 million award and a Las Vegas headline performance.
As host Tyra Banks delivered the tearful announcement, Darci Lynne held on to her puppet, Petunia.

Despite being the competition’s early favorite and receiving the Golden Buzzer from judge Mel B during the audition stages, Angelica proved to be a deserving finalist and left the audience speechless with a stirring performance alongside Top 10 competitor Kechi Okwuchi and Kelly Clarkson.
Angelica described her tears as “tears of joy!!” as she broke down in tears upon hearing of Darci Lynne’s victory.
Regarding Darci Lynne, she’s emulating some well-known “America’s Got Talent” contestants. Ten years ago, in the second season of the show, Terry Fator, a ventriloquist and Vegas sensation, was declared the champion.
He even came back on Wednesday night to join the new winner on stage.
Congratulations! Lynne Darci!
