Kate Smith was unmatched in her rendition of God Bless America

Dean Martin performed a medley of well-known American songs with Kate Smith on *The Dean Martin Show*, one of his most patriotic appearances.

Red, white, and blue-clad singers and dancers filled the stage with excitement. Stars like Norm Crosby, Mickey Rooney, and Barbara Eden were with Dean and Kate.

Kate Smith wore a glittering red and black gown, and Barbara Eden looked stunning in a pink dress, while the males wore tuxedos.

Everyone joined in as Dean and Kate sang *Yankee Doodle Dandy* and then *My Old Kentucky Home* to start the show. The stage came alive with singers and dancers as the medley transitioned into *You’re a Grand Old Flag*.

As the audience erupted in cheers, Dean took the stage to begin *God Bless America* by quoting President Roosevelt’s introduction of Kate Smith from years earlier.

Kate Smith, whose strong voice earned her the nickname *The Songbird of the South* during World War II, enthralled the crowd with yet another heartfelt rendition of *God Bless America*.

Her voice reached the last, famous high note with the orchestra accompanying her. An exquisite homage to the passion and pride of America!
