Before her performance, the Boulder, Colorado youngster kept the judges guessing by assuring Simon Cowell that “it’s a surprise” when he inquired about the song she would be performing. Rachel was eliminated in the quarterfinals of the inaugural season of The X Factor. After she faced Marcus Canty in a sing-off, the round ended in a stalemate, and she was dismissed.
Since her experience on The X Factor, Rachel has had a very prosperous career in the entertainment sector. She received a recording deal with Columbia Records a year after she appeared on the show, and in 2012, her EP debuted in the top 20 on the US Heat chart.
